No it doesn’t effect F.I.T payments.
You get payed to generate electricity even if you were to use all the electricity you make you would still be payed.
You also get payed an export rate which is usually a few pence per kWh. Some energy company estimate you will use 50% of what you generate, in this case you will be payed 50% export so adding a storage system won’t effect you at all. If you are payed per kWh to export you might find yourself around £20 per year worse off but the amount you’ll save by having the battery far outweighs this.

Every 3 month, 6 months or 12 months when you submit your generation meter readings, the provider may/will ask have you made any changes to the system. This is the opportunity to let them know you’ve installed a battery. Sometimes schematic drawings are required which we can supply.

Anywhere from 15-30 years depending on the manufacturer and the amount of cycles the batteries are capable of.

Depending on the manufacturer batteries are available in all different shapes, sizes and capacities. Over the last 10 years batteries have become significantly smaller, Most battery cells are around
500mm length x
400mm height x
200mm depth per cell
They can either be wall mounted or stacked on top of each other.

Depending on your capacity size and household usage batteries can take anywhere from 5-10 years to pay for themselves, when we have the exact capacity size and usage of your home we can advise you further and be more accurate.

Close to the fuse board, meter and main incoming ac supply. Some houses have fuse boards under the stairs, up high in the corner of the room near the coving, in kitchen cupboards or potentially in a sunken electrical box on the outside of the property.
Batteries needs their own ac supply and a data cable connection to monitor consumption in the property the data cable needs to be connected to the main incoming ac supply. Some clients prefer the battery system to be installed in the attic area close to the Solar inverter, this is fine and easy for us to facilitate.

Monitoring your battery is easy. From the lux monitoring app that can be downloaded onto any iOS device, android ,laptop or computer, the end user and ourselves have the ability to login to your personalised portal from anywhere in the world, providing there is internet. From the portal you can see the household consumption, battery capacity, your generation for the day and exactly what is being generated at that point and finally your export back to the national grid.

There are 2 ways in which the battery will charge. The first is from any excess power you generate but don’t consume, instead of exporting back to the grid the battery will automatically charge up.
The second charging option is directly from the national grid during the night when electricity is cheaper to purchase from your energy supplier, this is known as a smart charging.
The Agile tariff from octopus or economy 7 tariffs from British Gas, Eon and ulility warehouse are the most popular among our clients.

Installations takes between 1 and 3 hours depending on its location and accessibility.
